Hove U12 Girls take on Hasting & Bexhill

Building on last week’s improved performance against Crowborough, Hove U12 Girls made the lengthy journey to a wet and windy Hastings. Feeling full of confidence, Hove started at pace and a flowing move through the hands led to an opening minute try for Joslin. Quick to the ball and solid in defence (with some much improved rucking and tackling throughout), Hove exerted their dominance and went into the half with a 30-10 lead courtesy of 4 first half Joslin scores and tries from Cordelia and Aggie.

Hastings had some confidence boosting words at half time, scoring three quick tries after the break to make the game close. However, due to some tough defensive work (Poppy S and Nia in particular getting up close and personal with the opposition), Hove were able to stem the tide. A captain’s performance from Cordelia saw her complete her hat-trick, with further a further try each from Aggie and the returning Darcie (her first for the club). The final score was a convincing 50 - 25 win for Hove; Cordelia and Joslin took home the player’s player awards for their performances but all of the squad left the match proud of their improvements. UTH!
