Hove U16 Girls travelled to Worthing RFC to face a strong combined Worthing/Horsham side and delivered a commanding performance that underlined the squad’s growing confidence, cohesion and physicality.

From the opening whistle, Hove set the tone with strong defensive line speed and intelligent breakdown work, allowing them to control both territory and possession. The forwards laid an excellent platform, repeatedly winning collisions and generating quick ball, which allowed the backs to play with freedom and exploit space out wide.
Two of the standout performers on the day were Ruby and Isla, who were outstanding in the back row positions. Both players were relentless around the park, making dominant tackles. Ruby and Isla’s carrying in traffic, physicality in contact, and arriving at key moments made them a formidable pairing, scoring multiple times.
Across the rest of the squad, Hove showed excellent discipline and teamwork, with strong communication in defence and good support lines in attack. The team’s ability to recycle quickly and keep pressure on the opposition led to sustained periods of dominance, which eventually translated into a series of well-worked tries.
Overall, it was a highly impressive display that reflected the squad’s hard work in training and their growing understanding of how to control a game. With performances like this, Hove U16 Girls are building serious momentum as the season progresses.
