Womens Section:

Jess Diaz

Jess has come back this season with a renewed passion and intensity. After missing out on the second team plate final at the end of last season due to injury, Jess has shown what we missed with hard work in training and games, and some monstrous ball-carrying. Keep up the great work!

Mens Section:

Sam Kentell

Had a great attitude to bettering himself and others around him. This has been a challenge pre season with it being extend by 2 weeks and Sam has driven the standards and developed himself

U18 Girls:

Lottie Worthley

Lottie has been a regular at training and is always a positive influence and gives 100% effort. She has also played extremely well in our early season games , displaying both skill and determination. She has also worked hard to be selected for Sussex u18 PDG

U16 Boys Section:

Gab McHugh

Gabriel has started this season in an impressive manner - combining energy on the ball with an extra determination in his defence and tackling. He has done this whilst adapting to a relatively new role in the backs. An excellent start to the season and we look forward to seeing more of the same in the coming weeks.

U16 Girls Section:

Nancy Budd

Nancy has been outstanding in training and across all the early season games. As a senior member of the squad she has shown fantastic leadership and sets a great example to those around her.

U15 Boys Section:

Dexter Graddon

Dexter has started the season with a fantastic attitude and has fully embraced the role at fly-half. It’s a position that carries plenty of responsibility, and he has impressed the coaches with his enthusiasm, leadership and commitment to the team.

His understanding of the game and ability to make good decisions are real strengths. In training, he has shown how well he can organise the players around him and help direct play—exactly what we look for in our number 10. Dexter always has plenty to say, and it’s great to see him putting that communication to good use on the pitch!

He has also listened carefully to feedback from the coaches and worked hard to apply it to his game. That willingness to learn, alongside the way he has taken responsibility for his position, has really stood out this month.

Dexter has been part of our squad for many years and is a valued teammate, well respected by both the players and coaches. This award recognises his excellent start to the season, as well as the qualities he has brought to the team over the years.

We’re extremely proud of him and look forward to seeing him continue to develop throughout the season. Well done, Dexter—keep doing what you’re doing!

U14 Boys Section:

Billy Crowley

Billy has stepped up into the role of Reds captain for the 26/27 season showing great leadership on and off the field. Was a key contributor in the U14s successful match v London Irish

U14 Girls Section:

Scarlett McGuinness

Scarlett is a fantastically coachable and enthusiastic player - brand new to rugby at the start of the season and making massive strides in her learning and confidence. Scarlett takes on all the challenges we set, has performed brilliantly on the pitch and really shines when with her teammates - it’s safe to say Scarlett fully belongs in our team.

A highlight for the coaching team is Scarlett, despite being a newer player, being so ready to help new players understanding and being such a powerful and positive runner ball in hand.

U13 Boys Section:

Leo B

Leo has been a great addition to the team this season. He’s really keen to get stuck into the front row, is always asking questions and wanting to learn. He turns up every week, gives it his all and has improved massively in such a short space of time.

U12 Girls Section:

Noémie Ferguson

Noémie has been really stepping up at training, as well as stepping the opposition on game day. She has been working hard at training, always listening to the coaches and it is showing with her new found confidence and voice.

Really proud of the work she has been putting in!

U12 Boys Section:

Harry Wilson

Harry put in a fantastic performance in the Stormers opening win of the season and was rewarded with 4 tries in a 16-3 win!

Harry joined us towards the middle of the Under 11 season and his development since then has been fantastic. A hard worker and a big carrier, he consistently gets the team on the front foot. Fully deserving of our player of the month for September.

U11 Section:

Jonah Valsler

Jonah had a great season last year and he’s really carried this on in September. One of our core team members and never lets his team down in festivals. Well done

U10 Section:

Sammy Kukulski

Sammy has had a brilliant start to the season. He always turns up with a great attitude, listens and works hard every single session. His attitude to learning and positivity are exactly what we love to see at Hove RFC.

Rucking is new for the team this season and Sammy has taken well to it. His tackling has come on lots too, and he is becoming a proper team player in defence, always willing to do his job for the team.

With ball in hand is where Sammy really shines. He’s got a lovely step, but is also just as happy running straight and hard, like the great try he scored at training last weekend when he still had plenty of work to do.

Consistent effort week in, week out, and real respect and sportsmanship on and off the pitch. Sammy is an absolute pleasure to coach.

U9 & U10 Girls Tigers Section:

Saffi Hemsley

Saffi has been so energetic and enthusiastic at every training session, and her excellent attitude is always noticed by the coaches.

Equally, all her efforts are really paying off as her confidence and skills are improving hugely every week and she is progressing into one of the leaders on the Tigers pitch!

U9 Section:

Zac

He only joined us at the start of the season and has gone straight into contact (whilst learning skills and rules). He has been working hard in training and put his new skills to practice at our first festival last weekend with great results

🏆 Club Winner: U8 Section:

Lucas Rychlinski

We’re delighted to name Lucas as our Player of the Month! He’s been really engaged this season and has made a huge step forward in both his attitude and involvement. We’ve been particularly impressed with the effort he’s put in at tournaments, showing real commitment in both attack and defence and giving everything when he’s on the pitch. His progression has been fantastic to see, and he should be really proud of how far he’s come. We hope this award gives him an extra boost of confidence and encourages him to keep building on the great progress he’s made. Well done, Lucas!

U7 Section:

Ralphie Chamberlain

Our Under 7s have had just one training session so far this season before heading straight into their first ever festivals, and what a start it has been.

The whole team has played brilliantly, growing in ability and confidence with every game. Just as impressive has been the friendships and team spirit developing across the squad. That made choosing this month's Player of the Month really tough, as it genuinely could have gone to any one of them.

This month's award goes to Ralphie. Alongside his excellent play on the pitch, he has encouraged and supported his teammates and made sure everyone was fully involved. Well done Ralphie, and well done to all of our Under 7s!

U5/6 Section:

Esme D’Arcy-McLaughlin

Despite often being one of the youngest and smallest in the age group, Esme consistently plays with energy and determination. She always takes part with a huge smile on her face and a fantastic attitude, her drive to get involved makes her standout.
