U12 Girls battle Crowborough in their second match of the season

ree

For their second match of the season, Hove U12 girls travelled to Crowborough. A fast start from the hosts put Hove on the back foot, but with a combination of some tough tackling and secure rucking the maroon and blues managed to stem the tide leading into half time. After some inspirational half-time words from head coach Mark, Hove flew out of the blocks in the second half, and a superb run and off-load from Joslin put Poppy L into the corner for her and Hove’s first try of the game.

Improved defensive work from the visitors kept the game tight, and some excellent passing and ball retention led to Joslin and Poppy L both scoring further tries for Hove in the second half. The score of Crowborough 50 -15 Hove was not reflective of the grit, determination and skill that the Hove girls showed throughout the game. Nia (for superb tackling and physical play) and Joslin (brilliant running and passing) were both standout performers, and were awarded player’s player of the match by their teammates.
