Hove U16 Girls welcomed a strong Lewes side to pitch 4, with plenty of county representation on both teams. It was a tense, cagey first half and Hove were slow to find rhythm, struggling to impose their usual systems. Despite that, they showed real character to head into half time only 5–7 down.

With conditions deteriorating, the pitch cutting up, and a few wise words from the coaching group, this special team began to reset. They went back to the structures and process that had gone missing in the opening exchanges, and it paid off. A crucial breakthrough try shifted the momentum, allowing Hove to take control of territory and tempo.
From there, the scene was set. Relentless work rate, resilience, and smart decision-making up the hill saw Hove pull clear, eventually securing a hard-earned 17–7 win.
A tough contest, a proper team effort, and a performance everyone involved can be proud of.
Next stop, the semi finals.
