Anna S

January saw Anna play her first competitive match for the group at the Six Seven series, and she clearly missed the memo about easing herself in. Her commitment to both the game and the team was outstanding. Her positive, infectious enthusiasm brings a real buzz to the squad. A brilliant addition on and off the pitch, and very deserving of this month’s award.

Womens Section:

Sadie

5 tries, 2 player of the match performances and hard work and enthusiasm in abundance. Sadie has been phenomenal both on and off the field and truly deserves this award.

Well done mate you've been awesome

Mens Section :

Louis S

After having three years out from rugby he came back into the fold, got injured in the first game and stuck doing his rehab to get back ASAP. The first half of the season he’s got back up to standard and has been performing and growing…!!! The comeback is always greater than the setback

Colts Section:

Louis T

He’s made an impact always off the bench and deserved his start last Sunday in our cup 1/4 final. His tackling ability is some of the best I’ve seen all season and his work rate off the ball has been brilliant. Well done Louis!

U16 Boys Section:

U16 Girls Section:

Izzy W

Izzy really found her stride in her last two games scoring an absolutely beautiful try against Worthing. Showing excellent determination in defense and playing with real confidence and creativity in attack. Well done Izzy! Well deserved.

U15 Boys Section:

Ollie O

Huge congratulations to Ollie O, our Player of the Month 🏆 Ollie’s workrate has been outstanding week in, week out, setting the tone at both training and on match day. His attitude is first class—always positive, committed, and pushing those around him to be better. Add to that his growing skill level and impact on the pitch, and this award is fully deserved. Brilliant effort—keep it up!

U14 Boys Section:

Jack B

Jack is one of our long standing players, and has excelled through the years at Hove RFC. This month, he has been a particularly excellent leader for the Hurricanes team. His communication and leadership in game time is next level. Something that we ask of all our boys but he actually does it! Jack gears his team up when heads are down and leads from the front.

U14 Girls Section:

Lexi T

Lexi has had an outstanding month. From clean, confident catches in the line-out to distracting an opposition’s clearance kick — both of which sparked Hove tries — she’s been right at the heart of the action. She’s also shown brilliant game awareness, stepping in at scrum-half when Mae or Sophie were in the ruck, keeping our attack moving with calm hands and quick decisions. And beyond the technical work, Lexi brings energy that lifts everyone around her. Whether it’s dancing on the pitch or encouraging teammates between phases, she’s been a true team player in every sense. Well done, Lexi — a fantastic month.

U13 Boys Section:

Guy M

Guy is a fantastic member of the U13s squad having returened to Hove last season after a brief break. He has standout performance v Chichester capped with two tries along with a massive defensive shift. He’s also a great trainer and positive influence on the wider group.

U12 Boys Section:

Henry N

Many people don't know this, but Henry actually lives in Surrey and comes down to Sussex on the weekends to see his dad. He's been at the club since u9 and has continued to get better and better every season. His recent stand out performance in a victory over Hastings and Bexhill won him parents player of the match. He's deservedly the u12 player of the month for his commitment and performances.

U12 Girls Section:

Joslin D

Joslin has been on fire the last month, scoring tries for fun. Three hatricks in 3 games (12 tries in total)! Not only can Joslin finish off a great team move, she can also create space for herself, with either a neat sidestep or accelerating through a tight gap. Its not just Joslins' try scoring that catches the eye either, she also makes great tackles out wide to stiffel dangerous breaks from the opposition. Joslin is also very modest in her recent achievements and is such great fun to be around with her teammates and brings out the best in others.

U11 Section:

Henry P

Henry has played fantastically in January. He’s been focused, tackling well, running hard with the ball and quick to ruck.

U10 Section:

All U10's

Being part of this amazing group has inspired us to nominate them all. It’s great to see some amazing friendships form within the group which is then passed onto the pitch and at training, where real team work and sportsmanship is shown. They really do really emulate and show the true corse values of Rugby, TREDS.

U9 Section:

Monty

A gentleman off the pitch and a monster on it, Monty has been quietly & consistently outstanding week after week. Showing everything we value at Hove RFC, Monty plays with a fantastic attitude every single session. He listens, responds, and applies feedback immediately...a coach’s dream. This is our first season of contact and Monty's tackling has transformed over the season; from struggling to bring down a cuddly toy at the first tournament, to becoming a genuine tackling machine, he now regularly makes try‑saving tackles when the team needs him most. In attack, Monty brings pace & determination, regularly scoring tries but never showboating. Monty does all the hard work, all the unseen work, and always with a smile. As several coaches said, he often goes under the radar because he’s so reliable every week. Off the pitch, Monty is the perfect teammate; polite, respectful, and always saying thank you after sessions. Monty personifies the One Club culture.

U8 Section:

Bligh

He is a strong player, great understanding of the game, talks calmly to his team mates to fill in defensive gaps and puts in a lot of effort overall. He is learning the game, learning how to work in the squad and becoming a great team asset

U7 Section:

Gabriel R

Gabriel is a standout choice for Player of the Month. He’s incredibly fast, relentlessly determined, and always fully focused on the pitch. He listens, takes on feedback, and gives his all every single session, making him an absolute pleasure to coach. He’s our not-so-secret superpower, and there’s no doubt he has a hugely successful rugby future ahead of him.

🏆 Club Winner : U5/6 Section: Liandan 🏆

Liadan

Over the past few weeks, our under-6s have been focusing on more tag-based games as we prepare to step up next season and take part in festivals for the first time. Liadan has been outstanding throughout these sessions. She has shown positive, direct running, great awareness of her teammates, and clear, sensible communication on the pitch during games. Most of all, she brings fantastic energy and enthusiasm to every session, which lifts everyone around her.
