U15s Seeing Double

Hove Rugby U15s delivered an epic weekend, winning an unprecedented County Cup double across both Sussex and Surrey competitions.

On Sunday 26th April the side ran out 50-12 winners against Crowborough in the Sussex County Cup hosted at Pulborough RFC. After a cautious opening 20 minutes, where Crowborough kept in touch with Hove by converting 4 penalties, Hove opened up their game and built the 50 point scoreline in a comprehensive victory.

Then on Monday 27th April Hove added a second piece of silverware to their haul running out 67-17 winners in the Quins Cup hosted at the Harlequins Stoop against Sutton and Epsom, and be some th first team from Sussex to win this prestigious prize.

Hove were on form from the off and kept the pressure on the scoreboard all match. Their opponents kept close for the first quarter benefitting with tries from their kicking game. But Hove’s relentless pressure at the breakdown, strong carries and quick offloading repeatedly found gaps in the defence as the game wore on, and finished with a 50 point differential.

It’s hard to put into words how proud all the coaching team are of the teams in both games and across all our multi-talented squad.
