Two friendly warmups for U14 Boys this week

Hove Hornets @ Reigate - 17-19

The Hornets took on Reigate in an exciting match that had just about everything – big tackles, end-to-end runs, and plenty of drama. Both teams looked a little rusty to start with, but once the game came to life there was no shortage of action. The Hornets powered over for some brilliant tries and showed flashes of real attacking flair, while the forwards worked hard in the scrums and at the breakdown. Reigate kept the scoreboard ticking with a mix of determined runs and a lucky interception, but the Hornets refused to give up, fighting back with some fantastic long-range efforts that had the crowd on their feet. In the end it was Reigate who edged a narrow win, but the Hornets can be proud of a gutsy performance and will take lots of positives – and plenty to build on – into their next

Lewes @ Hove Hurricanes - 14 - 63

The Hurricanes put on a fantastic display this weekend, showing just how far they’ve come as a squad. After weeks of hard work on patterns and structure, it all clicked into place with some flowing, edge-to-edge rugby. The forwards carried strongly in pods, linking up beautifully before moving the ball wide, and one of the tries was a perfect example of the full game plan in action. The back row were tireless in shutting down attacks and making strong runs, while the whole team worked hard to keep shape and play with purpose. Lewes had their moments, but the Hurricanes’ organisation, teamwork and determination shone through, and the result was a confident and impressive performance. It feels like the start of something special – the Hurricanes’ season is well and truly up and running!
