A 52 nil win over Horsham today, though the scoreline hides a shaky first half. We lacked structure, spilled ball and kicked when we did not need to, and Horsham pushed us. Eventually the boys settled, found shape and took control.

Jimmy set the tone with direct, hard running. Jack twisted their defence and bagged a couple. Beau channelled his inner Henry Pollock, gliding through with that blond hair bouncing as he goose stepped. Ned was outstanding again, doing all the unseen graft at the ruck, defending brilliantly and carrying hard for two tries.
It was great to see Max and Henry face their old club with real spirit. Both put in strong shifts, and Max even slotted a conversion with his old mates heckling him.
Several boys played up today and handled it superbly. Arthur, Arlo and Lucian made their Hurricanes debuts, showed real skill and fitted straight in.
We also used the game to experiment. Marlon stepped in at hooker and held his own. Dexter covered centre and nine with real energy. Seb moved to ten in the second half with Jack outside him, adding a fresh dimension with his sharp passing and knocking over three from four conversions. Precious finished at full back and, as ever, if you break the line and see Precious waiting for you… you are not getting past.
A good day, not just for the score but for the way the boys carried themselves, showed the depth of the squad and bounced back from last week.
Big test ahead in two weeks against Battersea.
