U12 Girls first festival of the season!

Hove Girls U12 travelled to Haywards Heath for their first competitive fixtures of the season, with several U11s making their first step up to U12 level. The squad numbered an impressive 19 players, so there was plenty of opportunity for rest and rotation. A physical encounter against Pulborough ended in a creditable 2-2 draw, with lots of direct running and growing confidence in the ruck.

The second match resulted in a 3-0 loss to UckHeath, although with several players experiencing a competitive match for the first time every player acquitted themselves amazingly. A third match against Crowborough ended in a narrow 3-2 loss, although Hove played the best of the rugby and moved the ball quickly and skillfully across the backline.

Saving the best until last, the girls put together all their skills for an impressive 6-1 victory over Hastings and Bexhill, with quality offloading, direct running and tries aplenty! The girls in the squad voted for Flo (U11) as their player of the tournament, but the fact that 8 player received a nomination goes to show how brilliantly the girls played as a team and that they have already started to build bonds together.
