Womens Vets enter the Six Seven Series

The Women’s Vets team travelled to Reeds RFC on Saturday to take part in the Women’s Touch Rugby Festival, the Six Sevens Series. Six teams competed in a round-robin format, with every match fiercely contested and decided by close margins.

True to form, the festival produced a string of close encounters, with most games separated by just a single try. The Women’s Vets battled hard throughout the day, growing in confidence and rhythm as the tournament progressed.

Despite strong performances, the team found themselves in the 5th–6th place play-off, which they won narrowly by one try in an exciting finish.

Despite some narrow losses in the round-robin games, the team claimed two wins and a draw. Their loss to the eventual tournament winners was by just one try, highlighting the squad’s competitiveness across the festival.

All matches were played in excellent spirit and were a great showcase of women’s touch rugby, reflecting both the competitiveness and camaraderie of the game. The festival was rounded off perfectly with a relaxed sit-down lunch in the clubhouse, providing a fitting end to a thoroughly enjoyable and well-run event.
