Hove traveled to KCS Old Boys on Saturday, with a fabulous pre season behind them. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and the KCS pitch was pristine. These proved to be the perfect conditions for a revamped Hove side, that has seen an influx of players for the new season.

The game started well for Hove with early pressure, but some mistakes and clinical finishing from KCS saw Hove trail 12-0. Hove needed a spark, and Jordan Sayers provided that with a big carry in our own half, and Hove came alive.
Hove's lineout fired, Toby Gale got his kicking boots on, and debutants Tom Langford and Taylor Morris bagged tries. Stalwarts, Leo Robertson and a jetlagged and food poisoned Guy Patton also scored. Hove led 12-28 at the break.
The second half was more of the same from Hove, with the backs firing on all cylinders, executing strike moves all over the park, and backed up by big carries and an excellent set piece from the forwards. Jordi Southgate continued to add the extras from the tries scored by himself, and another for Langers.
Hove ended the day winning 55-19. A bonus point away victory on the opening day was the perfect start for Hove. There were exceptional performances throughout the side and this Hove team looks set to ruffle some feathers this season.
We look forward to seeing you at the rec next week for a Home Double Header vs. Old Wimbledonians.
