Help guide Hove forward - Apply to the new Oversight Committee

To ensure ongoing consistency and integrity in the way the club's Executive Committee runs the club, we would like to invite our members to apply to be on The Hove Oversight Committee.

Purpose and responsibilities:

The primary function of The Oversight Committee is to review and monitor the way the club is run and provide independent review of the conduct of the Executive Committee.

The Oversight Committee reviews the decisions of the Executives to ensure transparency and fairness, although although the Oversight Committee does not exercise direct control over the club’s operations, it plays an important advisory role and can issue recommendations or call an Extraordinary General Meetings if needed. The Oversight Committee may also review disciplinary actions for fairness. 

Cadence of meetings:

The Oversight Committee meets at least twice per year, in person, but may meet more regularly should items arise that need urgent address.

Members:

It is chaired by the President and includes independent club members. 

Inputs:

Minutes of Executive Committee minutes and decisions, club finance reports, club processes and procedures.

Requirements:

• Good understanding of the club and its structure

• Ability to challenge information provided

• Knowledge of the best interests of the club
