Hove U12 Boys Set for Friday Night Lights as Super League Kicks Off

ree

U12s have earned a place among some of the strongest young squads in the South East after being invited to compete in the brand-new Friday Night Lights (FNL) Super League, launching on Friday 21st November at Waterhall, Brighton.

The competition, run in partnership with NextGen LIVE and Harlequins, brings together the top eight U12 teams across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Hampshire for three high-intensity evenings of rugby under the floodlights.

With matches streamed live on YouTube via NextGen, families and supporters will be able to tune in from anywhere to watch the action unfold.

Across the three scheduled nights (21st November, 30th January and 13th March), each squad will take part in 10-a-side matches, played on split pitches to keep the tempo high and the turnaround quick. The opening night will see the four Sussex sides, including Hove, face off in a local showcase before cross-county fixtures begin in the new year. Each match runs for 25 minutes, with short breaks and rapid changeovers ensuring a full evening of rugby entertainment.

The FNL Super League aims to give young players a unique, semi-professional experience. Every participant will receive an official event T-shirt, and the overall winners will take home a set of bespoke VX-3 playing shirts, courtesy of the club’s kit supplier.

All three evenings will be broadcast live by NextGenLIVE (the world’s largest grassroots sports streaming platform) giving young athletes the chance to showcase their skills to a much wider audience. An official Instagram page for the league will also go live soon to help build excitement and keep supporters updated.

With just weeks to go. Hove’s U12s will soon step out under the lights, representing the club with pride against some of the region’s best. See you at Waterhall - or live on screen, for the first ever Friday Night Lights Super League.
