Plans underway for Hove RFC renovation projects

We are pleased to announce plans to improve and protect the facilities at Hove Recreation Ground. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing the club’s infrastructure, we are seeking qualified contractors to carry out refurbishment works on the two outbuildings located on the grounds: The Tea Hut (currently used for equipment storage) and the Air Raid Shelter (currently in a state of disrepair).

These buildings will initially be used for secure storage for the club, with potential scope in the future for development. The immediate aim is ensuring they remain safe, weatherproof, and fit for purpose for use for years to come.

Invitation to Quote

We are inviting detailed quotations for the full refurbishment of both buildings. Contractors are required to arrange a site visit to assess the current condition and to obtain the full scope of works.

Partnership Opportunities

In addition to formal tenders, Hove RFC warmly welcomes proposals from companies or suppliers who may be able to provide services or materials on a pro bono or discounted basis in support of this community project. Any organisation offering such support will be recognised and acknowledged promotionally by the club in our communications and at the ground, in appreciation of their contribution to Hove Rugby Club.

Please note:

A condition survey was last undertaken in December 2021. The buildings have deteriorated since that time, and contractors should factor this into their assessments.

Although the outbuildings are owned by the Council, Hove RFC anticipates funding the works. All Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and associated documents will require approval by Hove Council prior to commencement.
