Happy New Year to you all from Dean, the Exec Committee and I, we hope you had an enjoyable Christmas break. It was fantastic to see so many of you at the Hangover Trophy, both on and off the field. It was the best turn out we’ve had for several years with players, parents, friends and family from all sections.

The weather was obviously a huge help on New Year’s Day and we’re now getting into that difficult period where training and games can be postponed or cancelled due to waterlogged or frozen pitches. We’ll always do our best to keep activity going and we’re encouraging coaches to think of alternatives, should pitches be unavailable but please look out for announcements.
Despite it being January, we have lots going on at the club. A special mention to the double header we have on Saturday 17th where both women’s and men’s senior teams are playing, kicking off with brunch at 11am. Please book your space on the website. Also, for the first time ever we’ll be streaming one of our youth teams. On Friday 30th we’ll be showing the U12 boys playing in the Friday Night Lights Super League, you can enjoy that at the club from 6.30pm.
I’m also very excited to announce that 13th June 2026 will be the Hove Rugby Club Ball, at the Old Ship hotel in Brighton. We’re working on some sponsorship to keep costs low, as we really want this to be attended by as many members and their families as possible. If you would like to sponsor the ball, then please contact sponsorship@hoverugbyclub.co.uk. It’s been several years since we had a ball so we expect it to be a brilliant night. More details to follow shortly.
